Oversize +015 Piston for O-470 -7 & -11 Series Continental Engine, PN of 531510 +015. The O-470 dash 7 & 11 series engines were used in the Cessna Bird Dog, likely others. It was considered the grand daddy of all flying air shows. Made up of mostly WWI ex-military flyers, it captivated crowds with daredevil flight performances, wing walking and parachuting demonstrations. My Grandfather began his aviation career barnstorming in a $250 war surplus Jenny and then later flying for the Gates Flying Circus. Orville Wright signed his license, license number 1000. My father came along at a time my grandfather was buying surplus PT19s and Stearmans for a few hundred dollars. My father continued the passion for flying and owned dozens of aircraft over the years. My brother flew for Cole Palen's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. In his last few days, my father's eyes twinkled when I brought some flying magazines to his bed side. In honor of my dad, I'm continuing our aviation heritage. Driving enthusiasts will hand their (petrol)heads in shame after Toyota completed the 12.9-mile German track at an average of 698mpg. The embarrassingly pedestrian time of 20 minutes and 59 seconds was set by motor journalist and Japanese car expert Joe Clifford, and since Toyota is the first to shame itself with a fuel economy run at the heart of performance car testing, it automatically sets a new efficiency record.

Wed, 20 Nov 2013The Porsche Macan (pictured) has been revealed in LA The Porsche Macan has been revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show, although Porsche’s endless teases for the baby Cayenne mean we already know much of what’s on offer in the Cayenne. The styling is very much ‘Baby Cayenne’, and no one is going to think the Macan is anything other than a smaller Porsche SUV with its very familiar looks. The Macan is smaller than the Cayenne – 146mm shorter and 16mm narrower – but it is bigger than the Audi Q5 on which it’s based (70mm longer and 24mm wider – lower too by 30mm).
