Up for sale is qty 1 Extreme Max Pro Aluminum Snowmobile Lift. Used once. I went out and bought what I expected to be the very best snowmobile lift that money could buy. All I actually bought was the most expensive piece of junk that money could buy. I've used it once and can't stand the thought of using it again. The form and fit are horrible, and the functionality is painful.
1) The wheels are too small. You can't roll over a zip tie.
2) I am pretty sure this thing is manufactured by 7yr olds. The holes are in the wrong locations and drilled crooked so nothing works. The corners are literally ground with an angle grinder. No two are the same.
3) The feet that go under the running boards are a huge pain to flip up and down. You can't roll the lift under the sled without them 'down' and can't lift the snowmobile without them 'up'. Tools required for everyday operation. You have to kneel down to flip the feet. Isn't the point of the lift so I don't have to lay on the floor???? Grrrr
4) Is the lift going to tip over? Who knows? It wabbles, it shakes, it might let the snowmobile fall on you and kill you...
5) Want to use a drill to power this thing up? Nope. It can barely be cranked by hand
6) It is just a matter of time before the rubber boots fail. They twist all out of position when you lift the sled up.

I'd love to brag this thing up so I can unload it, but you can tell by my feedback that I am an honest seller. Want to give it a shot? Come on over with some cash and make a deal.
I'd like to say that my loss is your gain, but more like my loss is your future loss.
I don't have the box anymore. Only the instructions. (and a large pile of disappointment)

Side note: I am an engineer, avid snowmobiler and inventor. I know how this stuff should work. If I can find a sympathetic person to take this thing off my hands, I plan to build my own lift.

Porsche finally becomes a VW company

Thu, 05 Jul 2012

Volkswagen has announced it is to finalise its takeover of Porsche by buying the remaining 50.1 per cent of Porsche stock for €4.46 billion. The takeover of Porsche by VW has been a long and rocky road, but then family fallouts are always messy. It all started with Porsche attempting to consume VW, but some clever manoeuvring by Ferdinand Piech thwarted the efforts of his cousin, Wolfgang Porsche, to swallow up his business and the financial crisis saw Porsche rack up €10 billion in debt in the process.

Opel Antara

Mon, 15 May 2006

Opel unveiled their new SUV at the opening of the new design center in Germany last week. Taking cues from the Antara GTC concept shown in Frankfurt last year, the production version shares its platform with the Chevrolet Captiva. More premium-feeling than the Captiva, the Antara combines the concept's "stylish-body-on-rugged-base" theme with shorter overhangs than the Chevrolet, though the roofline rises to accommodate the two additional doors.
