LSE shows the Range Rover Sport ‘Tiret’ Coupe
Fri, 27 Mar 2009A bespoke version of the LSE Range Rover Sport Coupe - The Tiret Coupe - currently on show at the Baselworld Show in Switzerland The LSE Coupe is not quite as radical as the original Stormer Concept, but it goes a good way to addressing the style issues that surround the Land Rover version of the car; the LSE is certainly more individual. Powered by either the regular 4.2 supercharged lump (or the TDV8 as an option), the standard S/C lump can be tweaked to deliver either 480bhp or 520bhp. But even the regular S/C in the LSE comes with a tweaked ECU to deliver more power and torque than the standard unit.
Jaguar Land Rover in talks to buy Aston Martin
Fri, 16 Nov 2012Talks have taken place between Tata – owners of Jaguar Land Rover – and the Kuwait Investment Dar – owners of Aston Martin. We said a year ago that Jaguar Land Rover was the best fit as a buyer for Aston Martin, but we doubted JLR would want to go back to being the poor relation to AML – as it was in the days of Ford’ ownership of the brands – where a Jag was a poor man’s Aston.
Concept Car of the Week: Matra Laser (1971)
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Founded in 1937, French company Matra began its activities by manufacturing military equipment such as aeronautics and weaponry. In the mid ‘60s, under Jean-Luc Lagardere's ambitious direction, the company bought Automobiles Rene Bonnet to expand its portfolio with street and racing cars. The first model solely developed by Matra was the bonkers, but brilliant, 1967 M530, which took its name from the company's surface-to-air missile the R530.
