2012 BMW M5 revealed in production trim

The wraps have been torn off the fire-breathing 2012 BMW M5. And, as expected, the Bavarian luxury maker is going in a different direction under the hood. BMW is eschewing a naturally aspirated powerplant in the new M5, whose high-revving roots date to the 1980s, in favor of a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 pushing out about 552 hp.

The Frankfurt Motor Show 2009 runs from 17th -27th September to the public Many of the Japanese makers will be conspicuous by their absence, but that should be more than made up for by the launches from the big European makers. Fiat Abarth 695 Maserati Edition joins Mille Miglia

Fiat is taking its Abarth 695 Maserati Edition, which we first saw in Geneva, to the famous Mille Miglia 1,000-mile race. The company is only producing 499 examples of the special edition. It will be displayed at Piazza della Loggia in Brescia, Italy, in conjunction with the race.
