The annual World Solar Challenge is taking place right now. 38 teams from all round the globe are racing 3,000km (1,864 miles) across Australia using energy from the sun alone. Nissan has lifted the cover off the redesigned 2013 Sentra sedan—its third product reveal within the past six months. The new Sentra arrives in dealer showrooms this fall. Nissan says the new Sentra is lighter by 150 pounds and more fuel efficient, returning up to 40 mpg highway.

Britain has busiest roads in Europe

It’s arguably the most predictable news story of the year so far, but research by the World Bank has revealed Britain’s roads are the most congested in Europe. According to the figures, there are 77 vehicles per kilometre of road in Britain – 76% higher than the European average. Compare that to Norway, where there are just 29 vehicles per kilometre.
