Summit Point 48"X36"- Oil / Acrylic on Canvas -By Herb Passberger

After Bob Tullius (
Group 44) moved on to race the V12 Jaguar E Type, his Triumph TR6 and parts went to a new owner Paul Newman who raced it with some success including winning the 1976 D Production SCCA Championship. It is on the way to the championship that we see Newman in the car at Summit Point waiting on line in the pits with his crew and that special protective umbrella that this painting depicts-(and inspired) He went on to beat Bob Tullius in the new TR7 in that race.

This was a frustrating outcome for me since I handled Triumph advertising as Creative Director at the time--I couldn't claim Newman's victory for Triumph because it was a 76 TR6-that was no longer being made and it was replaced with the new slower TR7.

SHIPPING--
This painting is too large for USPS --FEDEX?- or UPS ?--it needs to be double boxed at minimum with 2 " all around. That makes it 52" X 40"6
It may need to be shipped and insured  by a professional shipper that handles large paintings.
To get a ball park quote from your end you can contact a shipper that handles large paintings. I am located in Glen Cove Long Island NY zip 11542
Or you can contact me with your address and I will get a quote.

PS:I ran the 52 x 40 x 6 --on FEDEX EXPENCE SAVER to a Florida address--- and amazingly it took the size and calculated a cost of $191.91 without any insurance added.

Alfa Romeo 4C Concept: Alfa’s baby 8C debuts

Tue, 01 Mar 2011

Alfa Romeo 4C We had a stab at guessing what the Alfa Romeo 4C would be like once we knew it was likely that Alfa were taking the 4C – a baby Alfa 8C – to Geneva. But we didn’t have much to go on. If we’d guessed that the Alfa 4C would be, in almost every sense that matters, a scaled-down 8C we wouldn’t have been far wrong.
