Caterham to take on Cayman, Evora

With the increased visibility brought to enthusiast-secret Caterham via their Formula One team, it only makes sense to diversify the company's offerings. Though they've diverged from the Seven-only path a couple of times before -- with the limited-production 21 in the mid-'90s and the more recent SP/300.R, a track-only collaboration with Lola -- this time they're taking aim at higher-volume prey. BMW ‘i’ Brand 46 dealer network for i3 & i8

Each i-Brand centre will have specialist technical capabilities so they can work on the i range of cars and their high-voltage batteries, and BMW say there will also be a wider network for servicing and maintenance of their electric cars. The first of the -Brand cars to go on sale from BMW will be the city car i3 (which will also come with the option of a range extender engine to make it truly useful) later in 2013 followed by the i8 supercar. Prices are yet to be confirmed even for the i3, but we’re expecting the i3 to start around the £35k mark and the i8 – when it does arrive – costing something closing in on £100k.

New Range Rover – sold out for 2013

One UK Land Rover dealer is already reporting the 2013 Range Rover is already sold out for 2013, a week before it debuts at Paris 2012. Not only has Land Rover managed to push the Range Rover more upmarket - and managed to bring in the new 3.0 litre diesel at a similar price point to the old V8 diesel without any real moans about price hikes - they’ve made the Rangie more economical, more powerful and much ‘Greener’. That message seems to have filtered in to Range Rover buyers very quickly, with one Land Rover dealer in the UK already reporting they’ve sold out of their entire allocation for 2013.
