Red Line Gear Oils are designed to provide excellent low temperature characteristics and improved gear protection at higher temperatures. Red Line Gear Oils will reduce differential temperatures 10 to 70 Degree Fahrenheit. Efficiency improvements between 1 to 5 Percent are typical. The synthetic base stocks used have tremendous thermal stability and provide the best film strength available. The unique combination of base stocks and additives allow Red Line gear oils to carry higher loads compared to petroleum lubricants. The stability of these products allow them to be used for extended periods. Red Line 75W90 Gear Oil provides excellent protection in nearly all differentials, conventional and limited slip, in both racing and street use. 75W90NS and 75W140NS can be used in certain limited slip units in racing to lock up the differential. 80W140 should be used in commercial hauling, problem limited slip units, racing applications which see tremendous torque at low speeds, and where noise deadening is desired. Lightweight or SuperLight can be used to obtain maximum power transfer in racing differentials which do not see extremely high temperatures. If "chattering" occurs with any of these lubricants, Red Line Limited Slip Friction Modifier can be used to eliminate the stick/slip action and reduce the noise. This additive should not be necessary in the 75W90, 75W140 or the 80W140 Gear Oils, since they already contain this additive, but in some units more is required. Too much friction modifier can reduce the lockup in limited slip units, so it should only be used if needed.

Jaguar XFR-S – tease take 2

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

The Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful version of the XFR – will debut tomorrow at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but we get a second tease first. Jaguar’s punt at making the now ageing XFR credible against the new BMW M5 – the Jaguar XFR-S – is getting its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show tomorrow, but ahead of that full reveal Jaguar is teasing interest with its second teaser photo of the most powerful saloon they’ve ever built. Last week we got a front view of the XFR-S with its more aggressive nose (and Jaguar’s favourite ‘Speedy’ blue paint job) and this week we get to see the thumping great carbon fibre rear wing Jaguar has bolted on the back of the XFR-S.

End of an era for Dream Cruise landmark

Mon, 06 Dec 2010

One of the local landmarks that adds an authentic feel to Detroit's Woodward Dream Cruise has closed. The Vinsetta Garage, an art deco repair shop that dates to 1919 and sits just feet from Woodward Avenue, was shuttered last week as the owner prepares for a new direction in life. Jack Marwil, who owned the shop since 1989, plans to attend law school after the death of his wife this fall.

Citroen Tubik concept car (2011) first pictures

Mon, 05 Sep 2011

The Citroen Tubik may have overtones of a guppy fish, but this new nine-seat MPV concept car shows how the French envisage a people carrier of tomorrow. It draws inspiration from the Type H or TUB (French slang for a front-wheel drive commercial vehicle) van from Citroen's history books. So it's a spacious monobox and aims to solve the usual MPV dilemma or seats or baggage, by being simply massive.
