Simple, universal mounting kit for attaching cable scratchers to skis.

Bracket attaches to ski bolt and utilizes a small screw to prevent bracket from rotating. Most ski designs have a lip for scratcher to be hooked onto when not needed. If not, drilling a hole provides an easy spot to hook them up.

For safety the bracket is designed to break away in the event of a snag on bridge, rr track, trailer ramp etc. Its held in place by compression and friction and not bound by material strength.

When mounting on the ski bolt, the scratcher has no leverage to counter the steering effort. Many homemade ski mounts do not put them on the bolt center line, and this gives the scratcher leverage to counter steering effort.

Mounting scratchers on the skis provides more effective spray of snow compared to mounting on the rear suspension rails. All rear suspensions have room to mount them, but some will have interference issues under full range of travel.

I am a yamaha sled shop and have fit these up on all Yamaha plastic skis, Curve Skis, Sly Dog, & C/A with no issue. If anyone orders them and they don't work on your plastic ski I will certainly refund you.

Auction includes (2) stainless steel brackets and (2) pinning screws.

Volkswagen launches Car-Net in-car assistance system

Tue, 30 Jul 2013

Volkswagen has launched an in-car assistance system which will offer a number of convenience and diagnostic features. Not too dissimilar from some other systems already on the market -- such as BMW Assist, Mercedes-Benz'sMbrace, and GM's On-Star -- VW's system will offer roadside assistance, service appointment scheduling, and automatic crash notification. The latter triggers a call from the vehicle to a Car-Net customer specialist when the airbags in the car are deployed, which will then connect the occupants with a local public safety answering point, which can send emergency vehicles to the scene if needed.

Or indeed the last generation Porsche 911 GT3.
