    Alfonso Albaisa has been appointed executive design director at Infiniti as part of the Infiniti brand's restructuring. Reporting to Shiro Nakamura, he is based at the company's Design Center in Atsugi, Japan. Albaisa joins Nissan's luxury marque after a year as design director for Nissan's Global Passenger Vehicles and Electric Vehicles.

    Toyota's performance arm TRD (stop sniggering, it stands for Toyota Racing Development) has breathed on the GT86 coupe. The GT86 TRD, of which just 250 examples are UK-bound, gets a subtle bodykit, bigger wheels, a tuned exhaust and a couple of badging trinkets, but crucially, no extra power from the 2.0-litre boxer engine. Now Nike has entered the fray by developing a free app giving designers a deeper insight of how green their material choices are. The sportswear giant's new free ‘Making' app allows designers to examine the sustainability of 22 different product materials such as cotton, silk and grass-fed leather.
