Aston Martin sale imminent

Despite denying they were in talks to sell a stake, Aston Martin has confirmed it is in talks for a ‘Capital Increase’ with a deal announcement seemingly imminent. We’ve beenĀ bangingĀ on for more than a year that Aston Martin needs a new investor if it has any chance of remaining credible and viable. And now it looks like that ‘Big Brother’ for Aston Martin is imminent.

I am now in my office, which is 22 miles from my home. It used up about 1/3 of its charge to get here, with the air conditioning running. It has been plugged in to a 120-volt outlet in the building's parking structure for seven hours.

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's self-confidence has helped him tackle problems that lesser executives would duck, but he may have met his match. In a public test of Marchionne's faith in his own turnaround strategy, in September Volkswagen Chairman Ferdinand Piech bluntly announced that he wants to buy Alfa Romeo. Piech was suggesting that VW--and only VW--could transform Fiat's perennial money-losing brand into a real moneymaker.
