Could the McLaren P13 get a Honda engine?
Wed, 22 May 2013The McLaren P13 is due to arrive in 2015 and we’re expecting it to get a de-tuned version of the 3.8 litre V8 already found in the 12C (pictured above) and P1, and be priced to take on the almost empty sector (in terms of price) the Porsche 911 Turbo occupies - somewhere around £125k. It’s a sensible plan to fill a potentially lucrative sector of the supercar market with a mid-engined, rear wheel drive ‘baby’ supercar with performance of around 3.8 seconds to 60mph and stunning handling. It should give the 911 Turbo a run for its money.
Autoweek America Adventure: Thar be treasure out there
Sat, 29 Oct 2011OK, truth: It's kind of hard to not care. Yeah, yeah, that's the Honey Badger credo (and for those who think I've just spouted some kind of odd Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom gibberish, please go to YouTube and check out the Honey Badger video.) But being competitive sorts, Team Honey Badger--Tommy Kendall and I--do care. I have to say the second day of rallying is starting to bring out the competitive spirit.
Bentley Continental GT Hybrid?
Mon, 08 Jun 2009Bentley Continental GT caught sporting gubbins that looks suspiciously like a Hybrid power train So far, Bentley has opted for Bio-Fuel as a good starting point for going ‘Green’, but if the spy shot you see here is anything to go by, it looks like we could be seeing a Bentley Hybrid before too long. Snapped in Spain, where many car makers do hot weather testing in Europe, this Bentley Continental GT is definitely sporting something major in the mechanical department that doesn’t fit with the stock car. The guy who snapped the car also said it was running very quietly – perhaps indicating it was in electric cruise mode.
