Elemental RP1 sports car (2014): first pictures of Britain’s newest track car

At its heart, the 450kg RP1 has a unique carbon-composite tub based on the designs of contemporary race cars. The driver will sit 'feet up', allowing for greater underfloor downforce, which goes some way to explaining how the car achieves a quoted 200kg of downforce at 100mph.

NHTSA investigates Chevrolet Corvette headlamp failure

Federal U.S. safety officials have launched an investigation into potential headlamp failures on the sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received 30 consumer reports that both low beam headlights will shut off while driving at night, without warning.

McLaren has denied reports that boss Ron Dennis is being demoted in the wake of the automotive division he heads losing money. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport broke the news this week that Dennis could be demoted.
