Land Rover triggers rumours of ‘Landy’ SUV

Jaguar Land Rover has trademarked the name ‘Landy’, sparking more rumours of a smaller urban SUV based on the Evoque. The new model could possibly feature styling similar to the DC100 concept, and will be a rival to the likes of the BMW X1 and upcoming Audi Q1. There is no shortage of cool stuff at CES. Just wandering around the 2 million square feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center was like being in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory for technophiles. For instance, just inside the Center Hall was the ginormous LG wall o' TVs, all synched together and blasting incredible 3D images that looked like a Beetles short from 1967.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution not dead, yet

Perhaps as a reward to the public for buying its Mirage,* Mitsubishi has disclosed that it will not, in fact, kill off the gravel road-loving Lancer Evolution as soon as we thought. According to Mitsubishi, the Lancer Evolution will -- at the very least -- live out the 2015 model year, with North American-spec cars going into production this July. We're fairly sure it's not going to be a hybrid, either.
