Wed, 01 Oct 2008By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 01 October 2008 21:35 Audi has whisked the covers off its five-door A1 – in the shape of this A1 Sportback concept car, shown to a few selected media and VIPs on the eve of the Paris motor show 2008. It's a follow-up to 2007's A1 Metroproject quattro concept, which previewed the three-door A1. Mercedes GLA – the A-Class SUV – will arrive in production guise at Frankfurt
Sat, 10 Aug 2013The production version of the Mercedes GLA Concept (pictured) will debut at Frankfurt 2013 It’s only three months since the new Mercedes GLA debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show as a concept, but it’s already close to arriving in production guise. In fact, it looks like the new GLA – based on the new Mercedes A-Class underpinnings – will arrive in production form at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show, ahead of going on sale in early 2014. The new GLA is aimed squarely at the competition from the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, and if it delivers as well as the A-Class has it stands a very good chance of becoming the pick of the premium compact SUVs.
Holden Hurricane returned to glory
Wed, 19 Oct 2011Holden, the Australian arm of General Motors famous for its thumping V8-powered super-saloons, has lovingly restored its first-ever concept car from the late 1960s. Debuting at the 1969 Melbourne Motor Show, the sleek Hurricane concept was a mid-engine, rear-drive, two-seat sports car that embodied a variety of conceptual technologies that were years – decades even – ahead of its time. The Hurricane featured a digital instrument display, station-seeking radio and automatic temperature control air conditioning.
