Thu, 20 Aug 2009By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 20 August 2009 09:30 As bets in this topsy-turvy, unpredictable industry go, it’s a banker: of all the motor shows on the global calendar, the Tokyo exhibit is always the barmiest. Although the Chinese shows are rising in importance – and amusement value – there’s something peculiarly bonkers about the biannual Japanese bash held in downtown Tokyo. So strange is the exhibition at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City to westerners, that you don’t bat an eyelid at talking cars, vehicles with feelings, or cars designed for dogs.
Jag hops on Super Bowl ad bandwagon
Fri, 08 Nov 2013Jaguar is preparing to tout the brand's British roots in a new advertising campaign called "British Villains" that will be its largest ever and include its first Super Bowl commercial. The campaign will be used to launch the new F-Type coupe that debuts at the Los Angeles auto show later this month and goes on sale in April. The 30-second Super Bowl commercial will run during the second half of next year's event on Feb.

It’s now on its fourth CEO in 12 months, as founder Elon Musk takes over from Ze’ev Drori. In an announcement on the chief exec’s blog, Tesla Motors said it would be ‘cash-flow positive’ within six to nine months – but only by increasing production and cutting operating costs.
