Japan is a land famous for its futuristic gadgets, so naturally the Tokyo Motor Show is packed full of exciting and innovative concept cars. But in 2013 many of them are actually not that far from going into production. Though that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few crazy ones as well.

Jaguar gets a helping hand

It has been reported this morning that Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling have agreed to dip in to tax payers funds to help Tata, the owners of Jaguar and Land Rover. Along with most other car makers in the world, Jaguar and Land Rover has been hit hard by the current economic blight. But it seems that Tata has been hit by more grief than most.

The CAterham CSR 175 revealed at Tokyo We reported a few weeks ago that with the economic crisis still enveloping car makers round the world the Tokyo Motor Show was going to be almost exclusively domestic. Just Lotus – who brought the limited edition Lotus Scura – and Alpina – who brought the LWB B7 – were expected to be there to represent the rest of the world.
