Condition:Used

Up for auction is a super cool set of 16 inch x 6:00 wheels and period tires, with front and rear pre-1925 Model T Ford hubs welded as centers! The rear brake drums are 8 inches in outside diameter. These would have been made in the late 1930s or 1940s when someone built a sprint car or race car out of a Model T Ford frame and axles, and either used a Ford T or A engine or some other motor in the Ford Frame. This was very common in home built or amateur cars built after World War Two by mechanics and returning solders. All four wheels and hubs are solid and usable. Pickup only, as the wheels are VERY heavy! They can be stored until pickup, but must be paid for at end of auction. These are for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Volvo is the latest car maker to play tease with concept shots of their new cars, this time with the Volvo S60 for 2010. I’m really not sure that teaser shots work as a marketing ploy (which, let’s face it, is all they are). For a start, 9 out of 10 of the concept shots we see bear nothing more than a passing resemblance to the final car.

One of the odder things about living in "the future" is that things develop so gradually, hardly any of the really amazing things we're exposed to every day seem amazing or futuristic. If the iPhone had just appeared from nowhere in 2007, there would have been riots, demonstrations and legislation. But since we had a Blackberry first, and dedicated cellphones before that, the iPhone and its progeny were never quite shocking.
