Mini has updated the 2011 Geneva motor show Rocketman concept to celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. The Rocketman concept couldn't make the leap to production status, we reported in January. Ford announces electric car plans at the Detroit auto show

Not to be left out of the electric car party, Ford announced Sunday at the Detroit Auto Show that it was developing a line of electric powered vehicles. In addition to its already announced hybrids and plug-in hybrids, Ford is working with Magna International to bring fully electric cars to market with lithium-ion battery packs. In the works is a Focus and Fusion-based vehicles that will be available in with all three powertrains.

The Toyota iQ-based Toyota EV Prototype It’s well-known we hold no truck with the motor industry trying to portray the electric car as a replacement for the ICE car. It’s palpable nonsense. But a compact electric car with a short city range – now that floats our boat.
