This is an original emergency or hand brake cable opening cover and the attaching clip.  This assembly was used on all 1955 thru 1957 Thunderbirds.  The flat portion of the  base is behind the firewall pad and the round head protrudes thru the firewall cover.  It's held in place with a spring clip that fastens to the emergency brake platform.  The cover is an assembly line original which was mad of a pressed fiberboard.  Perfect for replacing a missing or damaged cover and clip.   Payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction. Vauxhall Astra GTC finally arrives at Frankfurt The Vauxhall Astra GTC (and its European equivalent Opel GTC) finally gets to go on public view at Frankfurt this week, a year after it arrived as a concept at Paris. Based on the more prosaic five-door Astra, the GTC carries over just about nothing except the door handles although it still conspires to look like a slightly squashed, butch version of its sibling. The Astra GTC is a decent looking effort from Vauxhall – as is the regular Astra – designed to take the fight to cars like the Scirroco.
