This is an original Ford heat riser or thermostatic control which mounts between the exhaust manifold and the RH exhaust pipe.  This heat riser was used on all 1955-1957 Thunderbirds and all 1955 thru 1962 Ford passenger cars and Mercurys which had a 292 or 312 Y block V8 engine.  The purpose of this heat riser was to allow your engine to warm up before allowing the exhaust gases to exit your exhaust pipe on the RH side.  This heat riser was glass beaded and painted with a hi-temp cast blast paint.  It's in excellent working condition.  It has an NOS anti-rattle spring and the original spring steel stop which is often missing or broken. Perfect for replacing a missing, damaged or "dummy" riser with a factory original.   See my eBay Store for more Ford and Thunderbird parts59Payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction. 2015 Audi A7, S7 RS7 Sportback facelift price and specs – costs from £45,875

Thu, 14 Aug 2014

Audi A7 facelift arrives priced from £45,875 The facelift for the Audi A7, S7 and RS7 Sportback arrived back in May, and although the styling changes weren’t enormous there were some very decent updates all round, and now the A7 Sportback range is on sale in the UK from £45,875. The big news for the A7 range was the arrival of Audi’s frugal 3.0 litre TDI ultra, a FWD 215bhp turbo diesel offering headline economy of 60.1mpg, and the arrival of a new S Tronic auto ‘box to replace the woeful Multitronic CVT. But with the A7 range now going on sale we learn there are quite a few spec changes too to make the range simpler and more appealing.

Nissan opens new design studio in Beijing

Delayed by the deadly earthquake that hit Japan earlier this year, Nissan Motor Co.'s new design center in Beijing finally received a proper opening this week, when global design chief Shiro Nakamura showed off the studio as a new source of ideas for Nissan and Infiniti. Nissan Design China, as the Beijing-based center is known, "is not a studio to just generate ideas for China," Nakamura said in an interview with Car Design News. It's equipped to handle designs of show cars and production cars for both Nissan and Infiniti brands, aimed at customers in China, as well as around the world.

Ferrari 250 GTO #3851 GT disappoints at $38 million

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

The Ferrari 250 GTO #3851 GT makes ‘just’ $38 million Last month, we reported that a Ferrari 250 GTO was due to hit the auction room at Bonhams Quail Lodge sale and was expected to hit a massive record price, with estimates ranging from $60-100 million. On that basis, the sale was a complete failure. In fact, the 250 GTO – previously owned by Fabrizio Violati – managed to reach a relatively paltry $38.1 million (£22.8 million), with the actual price (before buyers premium) ‘just’ $34.6 million (£20.7 million).
