It’s not just an Alpine Sports car (pictured) that Caterham will sell – it’s an SUV & City car too We already know that Caterham and Renault are working together to build a new sports car to be marketed as both a Caterham and an Alpine. But there’s already more in development. When we revealed the joint venture between Caterham and Alpine/Renault it was clear that Caterham wanted to develop a broad range of cars with Renault, and now Caterham boss Tony Fernandez has revealed to Reuters there’s a Caterham SUV and Caterham City car in development.

Here are some more things we saw at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. -- While it came onto the market at the top end, HD Radio is now trickling down to even entry-level cars. To emphasize that, parked in the HD Radio booth at CES was a Jetta, a 2012 Focus and a Forester, all relatively affordable rides that can come with the improved radio reception of HD.

Jaguar XF - or is it a Tesla? Tesla seem convinced – or at least they’re doing all they can to convince the public – that the Tesla Model S is a soon to be reality, despite all in the industry saying they can’t deliver what they are offering – a high-end, luxury, high-spec sports saloon with a 300 mile range – for the sort of money they claim. That money – as we learned recently – is to beĀ $69,500 for the Tesla S with the 300 mile battery, a price that’s had many scratching their heads over how Tesla can stick enough laptop batteries in the Model S to go that far, and how they can do it at a price that’s a good thirty per cent less than the ‘Lotus-with-batteries’ Tesla Roadster.
