This is an original 1956 Thunderbird all STEEL rear continental spare tire gravel or stone guard with new seal kit installed.  This gravel guard is uniquely Thunderbird and was used on all 1956 Thunderbirds from the factory.  The bracket on the backside mounts to the continental hinge and pivots with the hinge when the spare tire is lowered.  A set of new edge seals was also installed.  The former owner applied chip guard to the underside of the guard before painting it colonial white.  These steel stone guards have been obsolete from Ford Motor Company for nearly 50 years.  The reproductions are fiberglass.  Perfect for replacing a missing, damaged or fiberglass stone guard with a steel original.  See my eBay Store for more Ford,Thunderbird, Lincoln and Mercury parts.  Payment is expected within 10 days of the close of the auction.  We charge actual shipping, are glad to combine shipping or your welcome to pick it up at our shop.  Thanks!

Honda CR-Z – production ready at Detroit

Honda has revealed the production-ready CR-Z at the Detroit Motor Show Honda are very keen to catch up with Toyota in the hybrid car wars. The Honda Insight was their answer to the Prius (although better looking it was even more woeful to drive than the Prius) and Honda are now looking to move in to the ‘Sporty’ Hybrid market with the Honda CR-Z. Honda revealed the CR-Z back in October at the Tokyo Motor Show, and did the usual new model think of labeling it as a concept.

Michelin Challenge Design announces 2007 theme and call for entries

At the 2006 North American International Auto Show, Michelin Challenge Design announced its theme for the 2007 Challenge. Michelin Challenge Design will ask entrants to explore the future of transportation design using safety as the focus and inspiration. For 2007, the challenge is to design a vehicle for the North American market that enhances overall road safety, incorporating safety features for the occupants, but also for others who share the road.

BMW recalls the X3 for steering fix

BMW is recalling 50 units of the 2011 BMW X3 for a potential power-steering problem. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a control module in the electric power-steering unit might malfunction, resulting in a sudden loss of power-steering assistance, which could lead to a crash. The suspect X3s were built between April 27 and June 8, 2011.
