1958 Chevrolet NOS passenger side vent window glass.    I don’t know the 1958 Chev. model that this glass would fit but the dimensions are 11-1/2” x 5-5/16” (The bottom edge was not cut evenly all the way across [see pics]).  The following info is etched on the bottom front corner of the glass:  SAFETY [LOF] GLASS and right below that it has the date code which is AS 2 AN (refer to pics - this didn’t show up very well but you can kind of see that it is there though).  AS 2 refers to door glass and AN is for September (A) 1958 (N).  Someone in the past wrote (actually mismarked the year) on the GM package “1957 Sport Coupe vent glass; vent side; LOF Safety Plate AS2AN.”  Who knows what the reason was for this.  This unused  glass seems to be in very good condition (Complete with the original GM cardboard packaging with most of the factory staples still in place.  This in itself would be a collectible) but there are some very minor glass separations on the edges due to the age of the glass but would easily be covered by the window frame.  This is not a tinted glass.

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Yes, you’ll be able to chat on the phone when the Volvo does the driving for you Like it or not, we’re rapidly moving to the point where autonomous cars will be the norm, with the driver only being involved in the act of driving by choice. Volvo – unsurprisingly with their stated goal of making sure no one dies in a Volvo in future – is at the forefront of the move to autonomous driving, and have teamed up with the Swedish Transportation Administration, the Swedish Transport Agency, Lindholmen Science Park and the City of Gothenburg in a project called ‘Drive Me - Self-driving cars for sustainable mobility’. The project kicks off next year with customer research and the development of the necessary technology and Volvo aims to have 100 autonomous cars on the roads of Gothenburg by 2017, where they’ll be driving round approximately 50 kms of selected roads, including commuter roads, motorways and regular queues.
