Here is an original Tailgate Window Frame from any 1959-60 Chevrolet Wagon (or any 1959-60 GM wagon)  Includes the top, left and right rail.  Bottom trays seem to appear on ebay often.  I had 3 windows from 3 tailgates that all came from Montana and California.  While parts were not NOS, I found most window frames are rotted beyond repair.  So I put together a set I was going to have repaired and rechromed.  The top seems to be solid with a few gouges in the chrome on top, the two side rails appear to have a few tiny pinholes in each side.  I'm fairly certain they can be welded and re-chromed.  I managed to get all the screws out with nothing broken.  Buyer pays shipping, I ship anywhere.

New Opel/Vauxhall Astra saloon revealed – but not for the UK

Wed, 06 Jun 2012

The new Astra with a boot has been revealed but it’s not heading for the UK. It will, however, be offered in Germany and Spain. The hatchback has taken over the car world in recent years when it comes to family cars (although we could see the crossover / compact SUV supplant it before long), which has meant the demise of the traditional saloon, certainly in the UK market.

CDN and GM launch new interactive competition for students in North America

Tue, 12 Apr 2011

Multiple internships on offer with CDN-GM Interactive Competition Car Design News is pleased to announce the launch of the Car Design News-GM interactive design competition, a collaboration with GM and our partners, Dassault Systèmes and Faurecia. Eight student winners will be awarded internships at GM's design studios in North America in 2012 as the principal prizes, whilst our partner, Faurecia, will be choosing its own additional winner and offering this student an internship at its studios in either the US, Europe or Asia.  The competition is open to students studying at college/university level in the USA and Canada, on any design course, and to former students who graduated from these courses within the period April 2010 to March 2011. Students display and update their ideas and work-in-progress on the competition's website, where the interactivity comes from the ability of observers to comment and suggest specific amendments, and from GM mentors who will publicly guide and support the students.
