Up for auction are convertible top nylon bushing sets for both ends of each (of two) lower link arms.  The lower end connects the car body and the rod end to the convertible top lift cylinder rod.  See assembled photo.  These bushings age, become brittle and discolor, especially on cars that have been stored outdoors.  I had these reproduced and replaced my broken bushings so am selling my extras.

The photo of my spare lower link arm illustrates where the bushings fit, but only the bushings and fasteners are in the kit.  The kit quantities below supply both driver and passenger side.

  • 4-Top Lift Cylinder Rod End Link Bushings, ref #B8S-765050453
  • 4- Lower Link Bushings, ref  #B8S-7650473-B
  • 2- Top Lift Cylinder Rod End Shoulder Washers- Ref. #B9S-7650507-A
  • 6- Retainer Clips, zinc plated
  • 6- Washers, Stainless Steel

Note: THE KIT FITS 1959 TBIRDS MADE AFTER FEB. 12, 1959 AND 1960 TBIRDS ONLY.  If there is any doubt about which style the bidder has, compare your lower link with the photo.

I am preparing another auction for 1958 and early 1959 Thunderbirds, as some of the parts and quantities are different.

It comes after six cyclists died in two weeks in collisions with lorries, buses, and coaches - some mere hours apart.
