For sale is a bare 352 cylinder block from a 1960 Ford Thunderbird. This will also work on many other models and years including 1959-1972 Ford, Edsel, and Mercury FE applications. Please see the pictures. Any imperfections in the pictures are either dust or finger prints. There is a light amount of surface oxidation that is forming since this has been hot-dipped a couple weeks ago. The five (5) crank caps and ten (10) mounting bolts are included (as shown). This is an original Ford FoMoCo piece.

This is a virgin unmodified block (standard bore). It was removed from a survivor 1960 Thunderbird that ran great and never leaked. We are doing a restoration on the car and we are going to have the engine rebuilt, but the hot-tank/magnaflux showed a small crack in the water jacket (shown in the picture in yellow outline). Since we had other blocks laying around, it was easier to use a different block. This can be easily repaired for someone who is interested in a numbers-matching application as Ford was not stamping VIN numbers on engine components in the early 1960s.

VERY IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFO. PLEASE READ:
Local pickup within two weeks of end of sale is the best option for me (this option is free). I am about 20 miles north of highway 80, which is the main thoroughfare between Chicago and the west coast, so maybe you can have someone pick it up on their way through. Otherwise I can potentially deliver it within the midwest for a pre-determined price. Serious buyers ONLY can contact me to arrange for some shipping options before purchasing, but I can guarantee it's going to cost well over $150 to have this crate shipped. The last time I shipped one I think it came out to around $250. Pre-arranged shipping will be freight PLUS my expenses to acquire a pallet, tie down straps, and delivery to a loading dock (as required).

The item pictured is the exact item for sale. Comes from a dry, pet free and smoke free home/garage. Review my perfect feedback and buy with confidence! Feel free to ask any questions and I will respond as quickly as possible. I have many Ford parts for sale! Please visit the Galaxie Speedshop eBay store.

Thank you.

Study: Hybrids safer in accidents, more dangerous to pedestrians

Thu, 17 Nov 2011

In the first analysis of its kind, the Highway Loss Data Institute found that drivers of hybrid vehicles are, on average, 25 percent less likely to be injured in a crash than drivers of conventional vehicles. Matt Moore, the data institute's vice president and author of the study, said weight was a big factor in its analysis. “Hybrids on average are 10 percent heavier than their standard counterparts,” Moore said in a statement on Thursday.

Mini John Cooper Works WRC: the roll cage in detail

Wed, 06 Jul 2011

Mini claims it’s created the safest WRC car ever – with a little help from Prodrive.  And to prove the point, they’ve opened up the Mini Countryman WRC’s innards and spilled some of the secrets of its rollcage. The Countryman racer is stripped and fitted with a new type of rollcage designed by Prodrive. Its beams curve outwards and the Banbury engineers say it has been designed to withstand impacts much better than the straight crossbeams used in most WRC cars.

Jag designers light up London’s Clerkenwell Design Week

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

Clerkenwell Design Week might not mean much to car designers more used to motor shows like Tokyo or Geneva. But the five-year-old event is fast becoming a fixture in the broader design calendar, and has been sponsored by Jaguar for the past four years for good reason. In simple terms, Jaguar wants to be seen (and respected) beyond the automotive realm: "We want to connect with other designers and have our designers learn from designers in other fields," advanced design director Julian Thomson told Car Design News.
