Opel product chief Weber quits to take job with yet-unnamed rival
Thu, 07 Apr 2011Frank Weber, the German-born engineer who helped lead development of the Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera hybrids, is leaving General Motors' Opel unit to work for an as-yet unnamed competitor. Weber has been Opel's product chief since November 2009. His departure was reported Thursday by Automotive News Europe and confirmed by company sources.

We have the first photos of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S – which is heading for a debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show – and as far as we can tell this is an upmarket Outlander PHEV with cosmetic tweaks and more toys.

I appreciate the logic in this, but I’m still far from convinced that EVs are the way forward. Mini E Hits Europe It’s hard to see how BMW can lose on this.
