Here I have for sale a pair (R & L) of restored CORNERING LAMPS for any model 1962 Cadillac.  They both originally came from the South, but if you are familiar with these they are made out of potmetal and when they get hit or corrode the tabs all break off.  Not only that, but after years being inside a box in the trunk--most of the sockets are ruined as well.  Poor design- but we have to live with it.  As I said they were Southern- minimal corrosion.  I stripped off all the tar and corrosion.  I primed them to protect the remaining body. I tested the sockets that I had ( and threw out the bad ones.)  I made new top tabs as shown out of heavy gauge steel and attached them.  Some of the tabs were still there but cracked, weak, or missing pieces.  I simply placed a new steel tab next to the old so they will mount up exactly as original.  The inside front bolt slot also tends to break off, but as they use a sheetmetal nut/bolt they work fine just sandwiching the slot between washers.  I can supply the original slot hardware (inside only) and you can modify to support as necessary.  The passenger side bracket is still perfect.  Driver's side is missing a tang.  Upper bolt tabs are all new  (inside front brackets are less important.)  Wires, sockets are replaced ready to plug in.  Lenses are good used, chromed frames are better than most. NOS are available on ebay.   Bulbs are correct and new. New gaskets, new stainless screws.  Yes they work.  Hopefully your turn-signal switch in the column still does.  I have one more set, waiting for parts yet.   Buyer pays shipping, I ship anywhere.

One Lap of the Web: Barn-find Packards, a vintage Skyline racer and ultra-rare Ford Torino Talledegas

-- Who doesn't love a good barn find from time to time? Here's a 1929 Packard Model 633 Runabout stashed in a shed in the Adirondacks for half a century that, in true Cinderella fashion, went on to win best in show after a bit of dusting off. Heartwarming.

According to Bob: How GM cars got better

Even before he rode into General Motors as the product-development savior in 2001, Bob Lutz found himself being recruited for plots to take over the company. There was Heinz Prechter, the ASC sunroof king who proposed that Lutz and ex-Chrysler executive Steve Miller join with him as a pre-assembled management team to buy shares and get the board to clean out management. There was J.T.
