This is an original 10 page color article carefully removed from Collectible Automobile (2001) on the 1963 Chevy Q- Corvette! This show car was later designed to be the new 1963 Corvette Stingray! This article printed on thick high quality paper has beautiful color pictures and interesting history of the development of the Stingray. It has many drawings and prototype pictures of clay fastback coupes and convertibles. This is alook at the innovative way Chevy designed the Stingray in the early 60s. There is also a 2 page sidebar on a design development timeline, including pictures of other Corvette show cars, like the 1954 Corvair, the 1957 XP-64 SS and 1958 XP-700. Kustom kar kings' Dean Jeffries dead at 80

UPDATED: Dean Jeffries, a contemporary of California's great kustom kar kings in the early 1950s, who would go on to fame making cars for TV and movies, died Sunday, May 5 at 80. Jeffries grew up in Lynwood, Calif., across the street from Indy racer Troy Ruttman and around the corner from Sam and George Barris' shop. He spent his days hanging around the greats: George Cerny, Von Dutch and Big Daddy Roth.

Drayson Racing and Michelin compete for EV record

Drayson Racing Technologies and Michelin are joining forces to make a run at the FIA World Electric Land Speed Record on Tuesday with the Drayson B12 69/EV prototype. In addition to a record attempt this will be a real-world test for the car, which will also compete in the 2014 FIA Formula E Championship. The car was originally powered by a 5.5-liter biofuel Judd engine, but it has now been converted to full electric drive.

Government bid to cut driving options

PLANS DESIGNED to reduce petrol prices at motorway service stations and a freeze on the cost of the MoT test have been announced by the Government. A crackdown on whiplash injury fraud is also part of the driver-friendly package to be introduced from next year. Justice Secretary Chris Grayling said t he statutory maximum price of the MoT test for a car will be frozen at £54.85 until 2015 - potentially saving up to £50 million for drivers every year.
