This is an original oil pan with the close to center located drain plug.  All 289 oil pans after August 1964 had the drain plug relocated towards the side of the pan.

This pan in fair, original condition.  The bottom is caved in somewhat.  There are some minor dings located here and there, however there are no major creases making any damage easier to straighten out.  Also, the drain plug is missing so the threaded hole may or may not need to be up-sized.  It is very likely that some body filler will need to be used.  The pan does not appear to have much rust, but if sand blasted a pin hole could appear.

Please note:  This is a multiple quantity listing.  Since there are multiple quantities of this part, the item you receive may vary slightly from the picture.  All parts have been inspected and match this item's description.  If you have any questions about the scoop you would be receiving, please contact us.

Original 1964 1/2 pans are difficult to find.  Use this part to complete your classic Mustang restoration.

Buy a Nissan Versa Note through Amazon (sort of)

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos seems as if he'll try anything in the name of improving customer experience. Having convinced investors that razor-thin profits are acceptable for the foreseeable future, it seems like nearly everything Amazon does comes off as a loss-leader, designed to rope shoppers into Amazon's ever-expanding ecosystem. It's a constant topic of debate and discussion for tech pundits, but it hasn't been anything but ancillary to car shopping.

Concept Car of the Week: GM-X Stiletto (1964)

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

With dreams of flying cars as the ultimate inspiration, General Motors designers in the ‘60s used every trick possible to make their creations appear as though they were floating – long, straight bodies, wheels pushed in and hidden away, large fins and lights that looked like rockets. As William L. Mitchell took the reins of GM Design, he brought a more high-tech approach, with simpler surfaces, a more restrained use of chrome and a general sense of elegant simplicity.

Brits prefer driving abroad

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

BRITISH DRIVERS say they would rather drive abroad than in the UK because continental roads are less congested and in better repair. The lower price of fuel in continental Europe also attracts British drivers. Every year, 4.2 million British drivers head to Europe and research by the RAC shows the UK ranks only 24th when it comes to the quality of its roads.
