DESCRIPTION: I SOLD THE PUMPKIN (DIFFERENTIAL - 4th photo above from the left) FROM MY '65 CHEVY C-20 ALMOST 24 YEARS AGO, BUT STILL HAVE THIS INSPECTION COVER THAT MOUNTS TO THE 3RD MEMBER HOUSING. I THINK THE BOLTS THAT I'M INCLUDING ARE 7/16", AND - LIKE THE COVER - THEY ARE "PERFECT" (DAMAGE-FREE; JUST NEED SOAKING IN SOLVENT!). SO IS THE DRAIN PLUG. I ALSO HAVE A PINION NUT AND WASHER, AND A PAIR OF BUSHINGS FOR THE DIFF (NOT INCLUDED, BUT AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST). THE COVER SHOULD FIT SURROUNDING YEARS UP TO '66. THAT IS, '60, '61, '62, '63, '64 (1960, 1961, 1962, etc.) THAT SHARED THE SAME MECHANICS OF MY PICKUP. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT I CANNOT GUARANTEE INTERCHANGEABILITY OF THIS COVER (ET CAVEAT EMPTOR). MEASUREMENTS: I checked EVERY diameter, and every one was exactly 11 5/16' (center of hole to center of opposite hole). Every hole has a corresponding hole that is exactly 180 degrees away from it (across center). The OVERALL diameter of the cover is exactly 12 1/4" (outer edge to outer edge). The flange is approx. 1" in width. The offset of the cover is roughly 3.5" (height of dome).

Nissan is recalling nearly one million vehicles for a problem with the airbags. The occupant classification system (OCS) may incorrectly think that the passenger seat is empty when it is occupied by an adult, failing to activate the airbag in a collision. Cars affected include the 2013-2014 Leaf, Altima, Pathfinder and Sentra, as well as the 2013 NV200, 2013 JX35, 2014 QX60 and the 2014 Q50.

The Fiat Freemont - Dodge Journey with a Fiat badge
At the end of December we revealed that Fiat had decided they should take the Dodge Journey and turn it in to a Fiat. The Fiat Freemont – for that is what Fiat had decided to rename the Dodge Challenger for Europe – would effectively be a replacement for the Fiat Ulysse MPV. It seems that Fiat has caught up with our story, so we now have official details on what the Freemont will offer.

One-off Ferrari 458 pays tribute to Niki Lauda
Younger readers might not see the connection between Ferrari and Niki Lauda; after all, Niki Lauda is Chairman of the Mercedes F1 team, not Ferrari. But back in the 1970s, Niki Lauda was the Prince of the Ferrari F1 team, notching up driver titles in 1975 and 1977 in a Ferrari (and suffering horrific burns at the Nurburgring in 1975). Although Lauda left Ferrari in 1977 on less than good terms, the Ron Howard tribute film to the ’70s battle between Lauda and James Hunt – Rush – has obviously had an impact on one of Ferrari’s wealthier clients, who has commissioned Ferrari’s Tailor Made Programme to create a Ferrari 458 dedicated to Niki Lauda.
