You may be familiar with K.A.R. Auto Groups great fitting hand laid fiberglass hoods and trunk lids. Hundreds have been sold to very satisfied customers as you can see by our ebay feed back. We are now combining our Eleanor Style hood with our fiberglass trunk lid with end caps and side exhaust moldings into a cost saving kit. The exhaust moldings are not shown in the pictures. Fiberglass hoods must ship by truck freight due to their size. We work hard to provide the least expensive truck freight rates possible. Nobody's truck rates are cheaper and we do not charge a box or handling fee! Now when you purchase an Eleanor style hood and truck lid combined we will pay the freight on the trunk lid. That's right, the trunk lid in its over sized box will ship free. You pay only the freight on the hood. Please keep in mind that truck freight to any business address will be a minimum of $40.00 less expensive than delivery to a residence. Body and paint shops, repair facilities, gas stations, or any legitimate place of business qualifies for the lower truck freight rates. You can also pick up at the truck depot to receive the lower rate. If you would like to arrange your own truck freight or pick up your kit at our retail store that is just fine with us.

Our hand laid fiberglass hoods, trunk lids, and exhaust moldings are 100% fiberglass. They are reinforced with metal at all mounting locations. You can use your existing hood hinges, latches, and mounting hardware. Hood pins are not required. Fiberglass hoods should not be used with stock hood hinge springs. Light weight springs or a prop rod should be used. Stock hood hinge springs will cause any fiberglass hood to bow over time. The trunk lid can be mounted using your stock mounting hardware and latch. There is an indentation where the trunk lock will be mounted. The hole for the lock will have to be drilled. This is an easy and straight forward task. We ship the trunk lid end caps with the mounting studs but do not pre-mount the studs. Classic Mustang trunk lid and end cap alignment can and will vary up to a 1/4 inch between cars from the factory. It is best to have your body shop place the end cap mounting studs where they will allow the end caps to perfectly align with your trunk lid. Many body shops do not use the mounting studs today. They use the modern mounting adhesives to mount the end caps directly to the quarter panels for a perfect fit. Our trunk lids were designed to fit with the weather strip installed to insure the proper alignment with the end caps. This is exactly how Ford designed the steel trunk lids to insure they would fit. The exhaust moldings can be pop riveted or screwed on from the underside but should be molded into the body from the visible top side.

THIS KIT IS FOR A COUPE OR CONVERTIBLE. WE HAVE A SIMILAR KIT LISTED FOR A FASTBACK IN OUR EBAY STORE.

Should you have any questions about how our fiberglass hoods and trunk lids fit and look please check our ebay individual listings for these items as additional pictures are available with those listings.

We at K.A.R. Auto Group take great pride in our tech support provided to our customers. Should you have questions before or after you purchase this kit please do not hesitate to call 800-341-5949 for assistance.

Tue, 22 Jun 2010

BMW M6 2012 Spied near the Nurburgring We’ve had plenty of spy shots of the next generation BMW 6 Series floating around for what seems almost as long as the old 6 Series has been around. Well, maybe not quite. Most recently we had a 2011 6 Series Convertible with not a lot of disguise going on, but until now we haven’t seen the M6 for 2012.

Selling in the Motor City: RM Auctions hawks muscle cars, classic sheetmetal and even a boat at Detroit event

The steering wheel in a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible is surprisingly thin. It's oversized and humongously circular, but still startlingly narrow considering it directs a very bargelike Caddy. Oh, and the seats are fairly comfortable.
