NEW! THE 1965-1966 TWIN SCOOP BIG KIT! You may be familiar with K.A.R. Auto Groups great fitting hand laid fiberglass hoods and trunk lids. Hundreds have been sold to very satisfied customers as you can see by our ebay feed back. We are now combining our twin scoop Shelby Style hood with our fiberglass trunk lid with end caps, front racing style valance, Shelby style side scoops, and Eleanor style side exit exhaust moldings into a cost saving BIG BODY KIT. Please read below the recent comments from a customer in Nevada.

Hi George!

Received the kit today. everything in good condition!

George back in the 70's I was a Fiberglass laminator.. I also built the bed areas on Big rigs. I have to tell you this is one of the absolute cleanest Lamination jobs I've seen. I did a mock up putting the parts into place. Everything matched beyond what I ever thought. I expected to do a bunch of trial fitting and some work, rather it be grinding, sanding, or adding glass on. I haven't tried the hood yet because my car is torn down to the Tub only. The side scoops can only be put on/in the opening one way! The right way! The fit of the lower panels will be a cinch to put on and match to the car. Nice Job to whoever does the work.. and the molds must be kept extremely clean and cared for..

Fiberglass hoods must ship by truck freight due to their size. We work hard to provide the least expensive truck freight rates possible. Nobody's truck rates are cheaper and we do not charge a box or handling fee!  Hoods alone average $120.00 truck freight to a business address and $170.00 to a residence. Depending on where the buyer lives we typically ship an entire kit within that business/residential price range.    Please keep in mind that truck freight to any business address is always less expensive than delivery to a residence. Body and paint shops, repair facilities, gas stations, or any legitimate non home based place of business that can accept a delivery during normal business hours qualifies for the lower truck freight rates. You can also pick up at the truck depot to receive the lower rate if you have a large enough vehicle to transport the entire kit. If you would like to arrange your own truck freight or pick up your kit at our retail store that is just fine with us.

Our hand laid fiberglass hoods and trunk lids, side scoops exhaust moldings and valances are 100% fiberglass and exceptionally strong. The hoods and trunk lids are reinforced with metal at all mounting locations. You can use your existing hood hinges, latches, and mounting hardware. Hood pins are not required. Fiberglass hoods should not be used with stock hood hinge springs. Light weight springs or a prop rod should be used. Stock hood hinge springs will cause any fiberglass hood to bow over time. The trunk lid can be mounted using your stock mounting hardware and latch. There is an indentation where the trunk lock will be mounted. The hole for the lock will have to drilled. This is an easy and straight forward task. We ship the trunk lid end caps with the mounting studs but do not pre-mount the studs. Classic Mustang trunk lid and end cap alignment can and will vary up to a 1/4 inch between cars from the factory. It is best to have your body shop place the end cap mounting studs where they will allow the end caps to perfectly align with your trunk lid. Many body shops do not use the mounting studs today. They use the modern mounting adhesives to mount the end caps directly to the quarter panels for a perfect fit. Our trunk lids were designed to fit with the weather strip installed to insure the proper alignment with the end caps. This is exactly how Ford designed the steel trunk lids to insure they would fit. The front valance is completely bolt on. The front valance we supply with this BIG BODY KIT accepts a front bumper. The side scoops are designed to be riveted to the car. The side exist moldings are also designed to be riveted or screwed to the car.  Some folks also mold them into the car for a clean appearance.

Should you have any questions about how our fiberglass hoods and trunk lids fit and look please check our ebay individual listings for these items as additional pictures are available with those listings.

We at K.A.R. Auto Group take great pride in our tech support provided to our customers. Should you have questions before or after you purchase this kit please do not hesitate to call 800-341-5949 for assistance.

Jaguar F-Type to get high profile dealer handover ceremony this week

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

Now the time is nigh, and the first F-Types will be heading for Jaguar dealers around the UK on Thursday (18th April), but they won’t be going on a fleet of transporters as usual. Instead, Jaguar is making an event out of a normally quite prosaic handover. Jaguar dealers from all round the UK will congregate at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry to find 59 new F-Types arranged in the shape of a giant ‘F’.

Nissan LEAF World Car of the Year 2011

Nissan LEAF World Car of the Year Award - presented by a man in brown suede trainers Why do judges on COTY Award panels persist in considering a car like the Nissan LEAF for such awards? How can it be, when it does everything less well than an ICE car, that it even gets a look in? We can only assume that the judges on these panels are trying to polish their own green halos.
