When restoring a 1965 Mustang it is a good idea to pay attention to the mounting of the hood hinges and the latch assembly that keeps it securely attached to the car. Original hood hinges wear and twist out of shape over time. Original latch assemblies can also wear over time depending on often the hood has been opened and closed over the years. Even if your hood hinges and latch assembly are in sound operating condition they are likely faded, corroded, discolored or all three of these.
