1967 Mercury Cougar, 6.5 Litre, GT, XR7. .. ORIGINAL BLACK WOOD-GRAIN STEERING WHEEL. 3-Spoke Design.. . .. This is an ORIGINAL FORD PART. Removed from a 1967 Cougar XR7 With Factory Black Interior. This Steering Wheel Needs to be Restored. .. The Wood Grain has Good Color and Graining but there is Fading. The Wood Grain section is separating from the wheel at Top LH and at the bottom. No cracks or splits in the Wood. There is a crack in the black inner section at the LH spoke where it meets the rim. There are three cracks at the center. No other cracks or splits. . The Bright Inner Trim Ring is Very Bright and Looks Nice. .. The Original Black Color looks Good. Has some fading and light Discoloration. The steering wheel has Good Mounting Splines. No Heavy Rust. The Center Hub is Good. Overall, this is a Good Original 1967 Cougar Wood-Grain Steering Wheel. Good to Have Restored. . VERY HARD TO FIND ORIGINAL IN ANY CONDITION. . Karim Habib, the exterior designer of the new BMW 7-series, has been lured to Mercedes-Benz where he will head up the advanced design studio on the outskirts of Stuttgart, Germany. Habib will work under Mercedes-Benz's new design boss, Gorden Wagener.
BMW works hard to avoid gas-guzzler tax
Thu, 05 Aug 2010BMW AG hopes to get out from under the gas-guzzler taxes that are tacked on to the sticker prices of some of its high-performance models in the United States. Jim O'Donnell, president of BMW of North America, says the company is studying fuel-efficiency improvements that could eliminate the gas-guzzler taxes on its vehicles as early as the launch of their redesigns in the next few years. The 2010 550i GT incurs a $1,000 gas-guzzler fee, for example.
