Volvo launches plan to spread servicing costs

Fri, 11 Oct 2013

Volvo has launched a new website allowing owners of Volvos up to 48 months old the opportunity to purchase a Volvo Service Plan, via either a one-off payment or a fixed monthly fee. It works in a similar way to car insurance, where you have a choice of either paying monthly or upfront. The pre-paid service plans cover any service carried out on Volvos up to six years of age and up to a maximum of ten scheduled services.

New Ferrari F12 Berlinetta unveiled UPDATED

Wed, 29 Feb 2012

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is here It’s the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta – not the F620 – but it is theĀ replacementĀ for the 599 and heading for a Geneva Debut. After leaks of images and photos of mock-ups what we thought would be called the F620 turns out to be the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Despite the name attached to the leaks of the new F12 being wrong, the photos were pretty much right.

Toyota RAV4 EV (2012) - a Toyota/Tesla electric SUV

Tue, 08 May 2012

The Toyota RAV4 has been turned into the only all-electric SUV on the market after a heart transplant from Tesla Motors.  The RAV4 EV has been given batteries and drivetrain bits from the Silicon Valley start-up to turn Toyota's most popular SUV into an electric-only vehicle with a 100-mile range. Toyota RAV4 EV: how it works A massive 422kg of batteries provide the power for the RAV4 EV, mounted low down in the centre of the vehicle to improve weight distribution. Toyota says that despite the new powertrain, no compromises have been made on passenger space.  Two driving modes offer a choice of speed or economy, Normal and Sport. Normal will send the RAV4 from 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds and on to a top speed of 85mph; Sport mode will take you there in 7.0sec and up to 100mph.
