1970-72 Chevelle BBC 454 Converted LS-6 4 Bolt LS6 Crank Rods Pistons 3999289 289 Here's a nice engine that was converted to a LS6 454. It started out as a 3999289 2 bolt 454 and was converted to 4 bolt main. Rotating assembly is all LS6 with .060 forged TRW pistons, GM 7/16 dimple rods and GM 7416 forged steel crank. As you can see in pictures I cleaned off 2 pistons and they still look new. When you look on bottom side you can see fresh cross hatch hone still so it must not have been ran much. I was told it was built 15 years ago, ran very little and the guy passed away so figure on refresh and check everything. It was running fine when pulled I was told. I have had these 289 blocks before from GM as a CE counter exchange for the LS6 454 Chevelle and they were 4 bolt main. If you want to use this as a counter exchange Chevelle engine then you will need to have block decked to remove the pad number and suffix code that's on it now. No sleeves. Engine is completely balanced and includes 8" balancer.
