Up for your auction bids is this new set of four 1970-74 E-body (Challenger, Cuda, Barracuda) Mopar torque boxes, from Safe-T-Cap (Auto Rust Technicians).  The box these came in some years back shows a part # of :  ART-2627-1.  These have never been used or even removed from original box and packaging until just recently for these pictures.

These torque box plates significantly strengthen these vulnerable areas underneath car to twisting during sudden acceleration or stopping.  Please note these plates are not an identical match to factory-installed plates, but instead are more for the performance-enthusiast wanting to make heavier-duty  structural enhancements on their car,  and not so concerned about all stock-appearance.

Plates featured here are in mint condition other than a small amount of surface rust to the bare metal they come in, just  from sitting on the shelf for a number of years.  A light bead-blasting or even wire-wheeling will remove this fine.  Save good money over normal retail price on these at my discounted buy it now price on these plates.  Put in that good bid today!  Thanks for stopping in to look and bid!

One Lap of the Web: Bugatti state of mind

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

-- Last week, we looked at the new Bugatti exhibit at the Mullin Museum, which taught us more about Bugatti in an afternoon than the last three years of idly flipping through Pebble Beach programs. Having thus immersed ourselves in the House That Ettore Built, we'd really like to drive to work in a faithful Type 35 replica by the aptly named Pur Sang, which Mark Dixon of Octane drove for his 140-mile commute. "You need to keep the revs up while the engine clears its throat and warms its plugs," he writes.

Porsche shows Cayenne can do off-road – just like the new Range Rover Sport

Porsche shows the new Cayenne S Diesel can do off-road The Porsche Cayenne has come in for some stick since it first arrived a decade ago as the first SUV from Porsche. The world declared the Cayenne too ugly to look at – well, that was the opinion of a certain Mr Clarkson – but anyone who’s lived with a Cayenne will know just how focused it is; it feels like a high-riding M5 to drive and, despite the misconception that sporty SUVs don’t do off-road, it’s remarkably capable when the going gets tough. We’re sure it’s just a coincidence that the 2013 Porsche Performance Drive – from Chisinau to Bratislava – is taking place just after the new Range Rover Sport arrived as a truly capable sporty SUV – with its Land Rover off-road credentials still intact – but the event has given Porsche the chance to show the new Cayenne S Diesel can also do off-road with aplomb.
