1970 Challenger S.e. / Barracuda G.c., Complete Overhead Console Wiring Harness on 2040-parts.com

Stillwater, Minnesota, United States
Here's a 1970 Challenger S.E. / Barracuda Gran Coupe overhead console complete wiring harness assembly, with relays and switches. The main harness has a Chrysler part # of 2983789 on the tag still on it. The low fuel relay is included here and has a Chrysler part # of 2983336 stamped on it. The time delay wiring sub harness (part #2983253 on its tag) has one plug that looks to have gotten hot and melt on top of the round metal relay it plugs onto. The rest looks good and is not cut, melted, spliced or broken off. The wiring loom material has gotten brittle with age and fallen apart some, so you would likely want to re-wrap this to be real nice. Light sockets to overhead console look good. Hard to find this complete of a harness any more, that is all original. Never have tried this in a car of my own, so can't warranty its perfect workability.
Manufacturer Part Number:MAIN TAG READS #2983789 Other Part Number:low fuel relay #2983336 looks good, w- gd wiring. Brand:ORIG MOPAR, 1970 CHALLENGER S.E, BARRACUDA GC Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Interchange Part Number:Looks to be a very complete wiring harness Placement on Vehicle:Front Surface Finish:wiring loom cloth material needs a retapeing. Warranty:No

Up for your auction bids is this very decent condition original used 1970 Dodge Challenger S.E. or 1970 Barracuda Gran Coupe overhead console wiring harness, with relays and some switches. The main harness's white part # tag reads Chrysler part #: 2983789, and the low fuel relay harness reads part #: 2983253.  The large low fuel relay is included with this too, and is stamped with Chrysler  part # of 2983336.

This harness looks very good shape overall, with good wiring light sockets (to overhead console) and plugs.  The only bad plug is one to the round aluminum relay on time delay harness, that looks to have gotten hot and melted down some at one time. It well might still be useable however, but no warranty on that, as I have not run / used this harness in a car of my own.  The time delay wiring harness is a sub-harness from the main one, and could be easily replaced however, or replace just the plug if need be.  The cloth netting wiring loom material over part of this wiring is brittle and should be re-taped to look real nice and be better protected. Taped areas of harness however look great still, and could be just left alone.  The low fuel relay (Part #2983336) looks good, but have not tested it.  There is no cuts, splices, or breaks in the wiring or plugs on the main wiring harness that I notice, so overall a good piece, that has been stored away for many, many years.

These harnesses with relays and switches are hard to find, especially as complete as this one is, and at a realistic opening bid price as these go, so be sure to put in that good bid today!  Thanks for stopping in to look and bid!

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

Among all the unveilings and glitz at last week’s Geneva Motor Show, the shortlisted shortlist (yes, really) for the World Car of the Year awards was announced. Sure, manufacturers are constantly gloating about adding to their trophy cabinets, but these are the awards that matter. They’re judged by journalists from around the world, including MSN Cars contributor Peter Burgess.

Mercedes' production Bluetec diesel SUVs

Thu, 13 Mar 2008

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 13 March 2008 17:14 Europe loves diesel, America doesn’t, so welcome to the US-only Mercedes Bluetec SUVs. The R, ML and GL 320 Bluetec diesels will be launched in America in autumn 2008, but won’t be coming to Europe yet. The three SUVs, which Mercedes claims come with the world’s latest and cleanest diesel engine, may not even make it to the UK.  All three come with a 3.0-litre diesel engine that has revised piston crowns, a lower compression ratio, and a new turbocharger and ECU.

Mazda Kiyora concept

Thu, 04 Sep 2008

Mazda has released these images of the Kiyora compact urban concept car the automaker will reveal at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Based on an all-new platform designed to maximize weight reduction, the Kiyora is claimed to represent the harmony between driving pleasure and environmental and safety features. Meaning 'clean and pure' in Japanese, the concept of 'Kiyora' helped the designers to imagine a city car cutting cleanly through an urban landscape, with water as the design theme.
