Solar-powered family car can do 370 miles on a sunny day

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

This solar-powered family car – aptly named ‘Stella’ by the student team behind the project at the Eindhoven University of Technology in Holland – is truly revolutionary. Apart from proving engineers do have a sense of humour with the name, this all carbonfibre creation can travel over 370 miles on a sunny day and actually contribute energy back to the grid, making this the world’s first ever ‘energy-positive’ car. This has amazing implications for the future… Click on the image above to read more about Stella, the solar-powered family car

BMW i3 ‘virtual test drive’ app (2013) CAR review

Fri, 13 Sep 2013

Though we’ve seen new the BMW i3 in full production trim, and had a ride in the carbonfibre electric city car, there’s still a short wait before anyone can get behind the wheel of a showroom-spec example in the UK – or is there? It’s available now on the Apple App Store, and from 26 September 2013 on Google Play.

Exterior image of the 2010 Ford Mustang The new Mustang is very clearly a Mustang, but with more than a passing resemblance to the more modern American Muscle cars, like the Camaro. One of the big let-downs of Yank-Tanks has always been the poor interior. With dashboards that look (and feel) as if they’ve been made out of recycled Fairy Liquid bottles, and more shake, rattle and roll than Bill Haley, the interiors were always one of the main reasons us Brits just couldn’t live with the cars.
