I've had the bottom end of this CT90 engine in storage for many years. I bought the complete engine and used the head, jug and other parts in different projects. This is an "early style" engine, it uses a head gasket with no notches in it. If your existing engine has 2 half-moon cutouts in the gasket, this is not the part for you. The good: The shift lever moves the drums through the four gears and back. The kick starter spins the crank right over. Both shafts have good splines on them. All of the threaded case holes are intact and the HI/LO range lever and gears move. Even the drive sprocket doesn't have excessive wear on it (the ends of the teeth are flat, not pointy.) The connecting rod feels good, only some side do side play (expected) but it feels tight on the crank journal. Many of the Phillips head screws are chewed up, I recommend buying a complete set of Allen head machine screws and replacing them all. The disclaimer: This is a used engine that I never saw or heard run. You are getting a used case, crank/rod, stator, gearbox, kick starter and HI/LO gearbox. You should certainly tear down the case and inspect it all. Assembling an engine without doing so is at your own risk. And you must also be able to re-assemble what you tear apart.
