ITEM: (79-001) 1973 Harley Davidson XLH 1000 Sportster Engine Motor Transmission (#: 3A46312H3) This came off a well running 1973 Harley Davidson XLH 1000 Sportster. Mileage: 1293 mi., but not true mileage. Probably closer to 25,000-30,000 miles. Previous owner parked this in his barn 7 + years ago after injuring himself (not on bike, but on farm). Decided to get a dresser for him and wife once healthy and basically. Finally was able to part with her after all these years. Many chrome and aftermarket parts and will try to sort and list correctly. Motor is electric start and shifter on opposite side of motor until after 1974 where they relocated it to today's standards. Parts come as seen in photos with no warranty. Damage noted below if any. Hardware comes with each item when available either installed back into said item, or separately in a baggie partially complete or complete when possible and photoed. Previous owner did have some areas where pieces of hardware were incomplete for whatever reason. Please note I do not have resources to offer fitment information. Please do your homework when cross referencing parts and compatibility since many of these parts will cross over to different makes, models, and years. Please note, this is a 1973 model. Check with a reliable source that this year's parts will fit your bike before purchasing. Compatibility chart is for reference only and not gospel. Notes/Damage/Issues/Concerns: Normal wear mileage unknown. New odometer states 1293 mi., but true mileage is closer to 25000 to 30000 mi. At one point previous owner added chrome trim covers. Points appear recently added and that side of motor looks very good. Points cover also has a "1" engraved if look closely. The primary cover side has various degrees of corrosion to chrome as well as cylinder head tops. This is from exposure to elements while in storage in barn. Also recommend complete new seals and gaskets from sitting. Spots of minor leaking discovered. Nothing major or severe. Compression was in mid 150's (154-155) and upper 150's (158-159). Fins intact and paint flaking. Starter and generator removed. Please view photos and video below. Tap video link below to watch bike running / tested.
