1973 Pontiac Firebird 1977 Chevrolet Camaro NOS trunk lock 491942

Product Description

NOS genuine GM unkeyed trunk lock cylinder, part number 491942.

I searched through at least a dozen parts books, and only come up with 2 applications for this:

  • 1973 Pontiac Firebird and TransAm
  • 1977 Chevrolet Camaro

Briggs and Stratton (the OEM of this part for GM) shows a backplate with slanted mounting ears for the 1973 Camaro, and an altogether different style lock for the 1977 Firebird. Some of the pieces in this kit, however, might fit other 1974 - 1976 Firebird, TransAm and Camaro.

Brand new, still in original GM box, never installed.

Shipping - Payment

A few words to make things easier.

1. Combined shipping for multiple auctions is always available, but when the auction is over, you will have to wait until I revise things in my eBay "paperwork" to create just one invoice for all your purchased auctions.  And I have to do the revising BEFORE you pay.  If auctions are paid separately (i.e. before you receive my invoice combining items), eBay will no longer then let me combine them on one invoice.  AND, eBay then automatically charges you separate shipping charges for each item, which is not refunded.  Again, this is eBay's set-up.  Combining auctions benefits you by saving you shipping and handling fees.

2. Payment is expected within 3 days.  After 8 days, I will file with eBay to have my auction fees refunded.  If there is a problem with 3 days, please let me know, as I am not unreasonable, and I know that things happen.  Just be aware that having been on eBay full-time for several years has already afforded me an opportunity to hear a lot of "creative" stories.

Thanks for your bid.

Saab 9-3 back with a petrol engine?

Sat, 17 Nov 2012

When National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) bought Saab they planned to produce electric Saabs. But now they’re looking at relaunching the 9-3 with an ICE engine. Finally, after what seemed decades of trying to find a way to divest itself of Saab, GM agreed a deal with National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) to take the reluctant Griffin down the dead-end route of mainstream electric cars.

Supercars targeted by vandals

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

OWNERS of luxury and supercars are reporting increased damage to their cars brought on by jealousy. Many don’t bother to report damage to their cars to the police now as they accept it as part of the risk of owning an expensive car. Called ‘car hate crimes’, the damage to cars such as Porsches.

New Volvo XC90 (2014) previewed by Volvo designers

Fri, 18 Nov 2011

Volvo's view on the 2014 XC90 The Volvo XC90 is still a capable cross between a luxury SUV and a Crossover (as we discovered recently when we played with the XC-90 R-Design for a week), but it is now very ancient. Launched in 2002, the XC90 has soldiered on essentially unchanged (bar some tweaks and the R-Design options), yet despite that it’s still a credible option with some very appealing traits. But it’s well past time to reveal a new XC90.
