Opel/Vauxhall RAK e concept
Thu, 08 Sep 2011Opel/Vauxhall has released images of the RAK e concept prior to its unveiling at the Frankfurt motor show next week. Billed as a car that ‘could revolutionize urban transport', it's clear that the company is thinking along similar lines to Volkswagen (Nils) and Audi (Urban Concept). Frankfurt's shaping up to offer a feast of these new single or tandem seat concept vehicles that conceptually sit in between a scooter and a small car.
Ford B-Max goes in to production
Mon, 25 Jun 2012The Ford B-Max – Ford’s long overdue replacement for the Fusion – has gone in to production in Romania before going on sale in Europe in September. The Ford B-Max is the long-awaited replacement for the very ancient Ford Fusion which finally, a year on from the B-Max Concept - arrived at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in production guise. Thankfully – because the B-Max concept as so convincing – Ford has managed to deliver a production B-Max that carries over almost all the features of the concept with just a few minor things – like more sensible wheels and proper door handles – marking the production B-Max out from the concept.
Brazilian VW design director Luiz Veiga celebrates the Beetle in art exhibition
Tue, 27 May 2014Earlier this month ‘Luiz Veiga: Tempos de Fusca' (Beetle Times) opened at the small OMA gallery in Sao Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. This exhibition proves not only a celebration of the Volkswagen icon, but also an opportunity to learn a little more about one of its exhibitors – Volkswagen Brazil's design director Luiz Veiga. Car Design News attended the opening at OMA – located not far from the VW plant – to talk with Veiga about art and design.
