Offered for bid is the front hub and brake assembly from a 1976-79 Kawasaki KD-100 / KM-100 motorcycle.  The rubber band you see in the pictures is there simply to keep the two halves together.  The rim was damaged when I got this so I cut the spokes with a Dremel in the hopes somebody would need the hub.  Picture #4 shows the brake shoes and inside of the drum.  One of the two shoes does not move when I work the lever so some reconditioning is in order upon arrival.  The only negative is that the nut for the axleshaft is not included.  Bidding starts at just $9.95 plus shipping in a medium-size USPS flat-rate box to get it sold.  See below for a word on shipping.

Shipping -- international bidders are welcome but write for a shipping quote before you bid, and PayPal is the only form of payment we accept.  Buyers of multiple lots will recieve combined shipping to save you money on fees.  Those shipping charges will be tailored to the winning bidder with the USPS Shipping Calculator once we have your zip code.  Saturday shipping will happen IF you pay before 10:00am Indiana time.  We have several other lots up for bid, including more motorcycle parts, so be sure to click "see Seller's other items" for a look.

New Audi Quattro supercar: could this be it?

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Audi has released surprise pictures of one of the concept cars it will be bringing to the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, on its international media site. The new concept currently comes with no other information – not even a name. However, given the way it looks so similar to the RS5-based Quattro concept from 2010 and the presence of the Quattro text on so many of these illustrations, it seems fairly clear what this new supercar will be called.

Vauxhall VXR8 & SMART for-two CDI take MPG Marathon honours

Mon, 10 Oct 2011

Vauxhall VXR8 & SMART for-two CDI take MPG Marathon honours On the face of it, it’s reasonable to expect a car as small as the SMART for-two CDI to be capable of astonishing economy if driven in a certain way. And the ALD Automotive / Shell FuelSave MPG Marathon, run last week near Cirencester, proved exactly that, with a SMART driven by Mick Linford and co-driver Ella Flynn managing to use less than four gallons of diesel to cover the 370 mile route. That means the SMART fortwo CDI averaged 99.24mpg on the route on real roads, an improvement of 16 per cent on the official combined figure of 85.6.
