Vauxhall Adam arrives

The Vauxhall Adam – Vauxhall’s new city car – has been revealed and will go on sale in January 2013 with a range of small petrol engines. It was clear when we revealed the Vauxhall Adam last week (well, its German sibling, the Opel Adam, anyway) on its first holiday in Spain to grab some pretty pictures that the official reveal would be close. Mechanics qualifications gained using Haynes manuals

MOST MEN enjoy a good Haynes car manual, whether they really understand it or not, but a group of youngsters has used the workshop guides to achieve their first qualifications in car mechanics. The first wave of the Haynes Mechanix scheme has seen a mixed gender youth club group, aged 15-25 and from Islington in London, use Haynes manuals along with guidance from experienced mentors to fix real problems on a real car. The donor Volkswagen, known as Percy the Polo, was a theoretical MOT fail and needed replacement spark plugs, a brake fluid replacement and much more, to give the aspiring tinkerers a broad spectrum of challenges.

Jaguar XFR-S Los Angeles Debut

A more powerful XFR – the Jaguar XFR-S – will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month with a more aggressive body kit and 542bhp. We’ve been expecting the arrival of the Jaguar XFR-S – a more powerful XFR – to take on the might of the latest M5 and E63 for some time, and Jaguar has revealed the XFR-S will get its debut at this month’s Lops Angeles Auto Show. All Jaguar has felt fit to do at this stage is tease the XFR-S with a single photos (above) and no detail, but it seems probable the XFR will get the same sort of makeover to to create the XFR-S as the XKR got to give us the XKR-S.
