Cast D8AE-6884-AA. These were used on late 70's Ford medium duty trucks with the 385-series 370 and 429 engines. The basic casting is the same as the Boss 429, 1971 Mustang and Cougar Cobra Jet and Super Cobra Jet, and the 1971 Boss 351 Mustang. The cast in numbers are different and the base is machined differently than the Boss 429 version.

This is a complete set and includes the long hollow bolt, block adapter insert, and oil cooler line fittings. These are all original parts but I got them from different sources over the years. The threads on the hollow bolt been chased with a die. The sleeve on the insert is supposed to have a very tight fit into the aluminum oil filter adapter but this one has some interference and needs to have the the diameter reduced slightly. Some of these later adapters used a different insert without a sleeve that fits up into the adapter, I don't like this arrangement which is why I'm including the better sleeved unit even though it needs some clearancing to fit. There is a used washer and o-ring for the bolt and adapter to block location.

Toyota Prius plug-in hits UK

Mon, 21 Jun 2010

The Toyota Prius plug-in arrives in the UK The next step in the Toyota Prius story is the plug-in Prius, which adds some Lithium-Ion batteries to the mix and the ability to plug the Prius in to the mains to get a usable kick-start to your day’s motoring, with an electric only range of up to 12.5 miles – around double the range a regular Prius can manage when fully charged. Toyota announced plans to get 500 Prius Plug-in Hybrids on the roads in 2010 back in September last year to evaluate their real-world performance before the plug-in gets a proper release – probably in 2012. Toyota are leasing 20 of the Prius plug-ins to a handful of public and private businesses in London as part of their plan to develop the Prius plug-in, and reduce the company’s overall CO2 levels – something which is sadly required by legislation.
