Coventry Industrial Design students launch projects blog
Tue, 21 May 2013The official blog for the 2013 Coventry University Industrial Design Degree Show has launched. Featuring project updates and imagery from this year's Industrial Design undergraduates, it allows Bachelor's students to promote their work ahead of the 2013 Degree Show and lets viewers follow the progress of their final projects and college work in real-time. A monthly archive also means viewers can look back over past submissions.
UK car sales reach six-year high
Tue, 07 Jan 2014Ford New car sales have reached their highest level since 2007, says the Society for Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). Figures for 2013 show an increase in registrations of 10.8% compared with the previous year, to 2,264,737 - most of which was driven by growth in the private car market. Ford dominated the best-seller list, with the Fiesta and Focus winning 200,000 sales between them The UK market’s performance easily outstripped that of the European Union as a whole, with an increase of 9.9% for the 11 months to November compared with a drop of 2.7% for the EU region.
Audi hosts student workshop in Design UNIverse
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Audi has hosted a Design UNIverse event in Ingolstadt as part of its plan to support the next generation of automotive designers. 42 student designers from four European universities were challenged to create models of a futuristic Audi that embodies the idea of "Vorsprung Durch Technik" while working closely with designers and discussing trends and how to create emotional products. The students – from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Slovakia), Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan (Italy), the Offenbach University of Art and Design (Germany) and the Royal College of Art London (Great Britain) – created 46 different models.
