For sale is a LH (driver's side) steering wheel airbag removed from a 1997 Chevy Tahoe. The airbag is charcoal in color, and is in good shape.

All our airbags are shipped via UPS ground ONLY , packed safely by a Hazmat certified shipper, using airbag specific DOT certified boxes and packaging. The shipping costs are high because of the requirements in the packaging and shipping of airbags. We ship only to 47 contiguous US states, we WILL NOT SHIP to New York. Per New York state law, if you are a resident of New York you cannot purchase this item.

The picture is an attempt to accurately show the color of the airbag, but there may be slight differences between vehicles and years. I can't allow returns on airbags due to the hazmat shipping requirements so ALL AIRBAGS ARE SOLD AS IS.

Used airbags are not tested to meet any safety standards. They must be used in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's specifications to function properly. A qualified installer is responsible for testing functionality. Airbags incorrectly installed could result in serious injury or death. The purchaser of an airbag agrees to accept all risks of damages or injuries, including death, relating to the use of a used airbag.

Vette plant to build high-performance engines

General Motors is moving its Performance Build Center, which let enthusiasts pay $5,000-plus to build the high-performance engine for their Chevrolet Corvette, from Michigan to the Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green, Ky. The move is expected to be completed by spring 2014. It will let a Corvette buyer build his own engine, with help from a GM technician, and then see it installed in his car as it goes down the Bowling Green assembly line.

Toyota has slipped behind competitors in drivetrain technology and now must play catch-up against the likes of Ford, Hyundai and Mazda. Much of Toyota's lag stems from engineering resources being diverted by the unintended acceleration crisis and other quality miscues in the past two years. Now expect Toyota to focus more on turbocharging and direct injection, and it may even bring a couple of diesels to the United States as part of midcycle changes.
